Obituary

Sarah “Sally” Hall Williamson, 90, passed on July 25, 2024 in Winter Park. She was born June 25, 1934 in Alisha (Fredericktown) PA, raised in Bridgeville PA. After graduating high school, she earned a degree in arts at Chatham College (now University) in Pittsburgh. Working at US Steel in Pittsburgh, she met and married John Denton Hall. They moved to Gainesville, FL while John earned a masters degree in civil engineering. On to Winter Park, FL, where the family made their home for almost 50 years. They had three children, Stephen, Matthew, and Carolyn.

A wife and mother first, Sally went on to become the first Activities Director at the Mayflower retirement community in Winter Park. Sally also worked several other community-oriented jobs. Sally was active in the arts community, especially watercolor. Sally and John enjoyed travel and outdoor activities, including summer work stints in Yellowstone, trips to Canada and Alaska, and active in the Florida Sport Paddlers club.

After John’s death in 2010, Sally met and married Jack Williamson in 2018. A true blessing to each other, they enjoyed 6 years of active life together. Jack passed away 8 days before Sally.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Ruth Weise, first husband John Hall, and her brother Edmund. She is survived by her children Stephen Hall, Matthew(Tracy) Hall, and Carolyn (David) Williamson, grandchildren Wesley, Emily (David), Zach, Jett (Emily), Sky (Alex), Julia, great-granddaughters Jane and Margaret, step-daughter Ann (Ray) Kite, and nieces and nephews.

Sally was a loving mother and wife, and deeply loved her broader family, church, friends and community. Memorial service August 17, 2024, 11am at First United Methodist Church Winter Park, chapel.
