Saundra (Sandy) Lee Bowman, 76, passed away in Leesburg on February 18, 2020. She was born on August 31,1943, in Bridgeport, Connecticut to the late Paul and Thelma Bowman. Also predeceased was her brother James (Jim) Bowman from North Carolina.

Raised during her childhood years in the New England area, her family moved to Florida in 1955, where she has lived the majority of her life.

While Sandy has spent recent times in Leesburg under medical care, she was a long time resident of Groveland. Although a trained bookkeeper, her greatest love was in helping others with their young children and assisting her late Mother and Grandparents Edgar and Arlene Lance, of Groveland, in their later years of life.

Surviving Sandy are her brother Roger, wife Faye of Winter Park, and Jim’s wife Patsy of Charlotte, N.C. Also surviving are her nephews Chris, Lance, James Jr., and Stephen. There are numerous family members from New England to the Southeast and Hawaii.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020, at 11am in Greenwood Cemetery, Groveland. As an alternative to flowers a memorial donation could be made on her behalf to her beloved church, The First Baptist Church, 137 E. Cherry St., Groveland, Florida 34736.
