Obituary
FORSTATER, SCOTT, age 59, of Ocala, Florida, (originally of Philadelphia, PA), left this world on January 10, 2025.
Scott was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 19, 1965. Scott graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1983. He played high school football at both George Washington, #16 and Abraham Lincoln High Schools, #22, go Railsplitters! Scott began his career as a Philadelphia Police Officer in 1989, Class #284 and retired in 2001 due to a service-connected disability. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5.
Scott married his wife, Ellie, in 1993. Scott spent the next several years during retirement as a “stay at home dad” with his daughters and dogs, eating cheesesteaks, and winning radio contests. He especially enjoyed the trips he won, going on a Disney Cruise and visiting Turks and Caicos. He loved family vacations and taking his daughters to Wildwood to enjoy Sam’s pizza.
In 2021, Scott, his wife, and their dogs, moved to Ocala, FL, to enjoy life in the sun. Scott enjoyed the beautiful Florida weather, survived multiple hurricanes and even a hailstorm that damaged his beloved Dodge Challenger. He enjoyed spending time with his wife searching for lawn statues and painting pottery.
Scott is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Leidy), and his daughters, Amanda (Britt) Forstater, Erica (Tyler) Oliver, and Abigail (Ryan) Roffman. He is missed by his dogs, Munch, Riggs, and Ripley. He is also survived by his loving uncle, Craig Forstater, siblings, Michael, Brian, Bruce, and Kimberly, nephews, Gabriel and Jacob, and niece, Hailey. Scott is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia, and father, Bruce.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home (Ocala-Timber Ridge), 11250 SW 93rd Court Road, Suite #300, Ocala, Florida 34481 between 5 pm and 7 pm on Thursday, January 16, 2025, for a public viewing. A service will start promptly at 7 pm.
