Obituary

Scott N. Newhouse, 63, passed away on December 12, 2017 at Tampa General Hospital after a long illness. Scott was born in Jamestown, New York, on June 14, 1954, to Raymond M. Newhouse and the late Patricia B. Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Julie Anna (Harris) Newhouse, 2 adoring daughters; Heather Ann (Jorge) Gonzalez and Katie Elaine (Eric) Joachim and 4 beautiful grand-daughters: Lily Sofia, Ava Rae, Amelia Ruby and Jocelyn Louise; as well as his parents Raymond M. Newhouse and Donna K. Newhouse; sister Amy Newhouse (John) Pfister; two nieces Allison and Madison; one nephew John Robert (Amanda) Harris, Jr., USMC and his family, along with many extended family and friends.

Scott grew up Fort Pierce, FL; then moved to Illinois where he started his family, only to move back to his roots in Florida. Scott loved to cook and was an avid outdoorsman. As a child, Scott excelled in swimming and he loved 70’s rock music.  He also enjoyed flying remote controlled airplanes, fishing, going to the beach, boating, car racing, gardening, wood working, playing with his dogs and tinkering with his toys. Scott enjoyed family trips and especially going to Beech Mountain in North Carolina. He was a family man who loved his family and spending time with them; they were his pride and joy.

A celebration of Scott’s life will be held on February 24, 2018 at Victory Lane Café (4120 Hancock Bridge Pkwy, Fort Myers, FL 33903) from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The family has re-opened the Custom Ink T-shirt fundraiser that Scott designed, if you would like to purchase one; or the family asks that you please wear a red shirt in support of Heart Disease Awareness Month.  Please follow #scottshope on Facebook for his journey and all updates.

In remembrance of Scott, the family requests that donations be made to the Lee County Humane Society, American Heart Foundation, or the American Diabetes Association.

Affordable Cremations by Baldwin Brothers has been entrusted with the arrangements.
