God bless her Soul. Sharon and I were originally supposed to be "matched up" when our group of Kensington High teens met each other after the Crystal Beach picnic in the Summer of 1960. Tracie, Tammy and Teri, I came very close to being your Father (instead of Dale). but, by sheer chance, Carol Luman burst into my life while Sharon Shanahan was in the car with me and Paul Letourneau dropping Sharon off at her Mom's apartment late at night. Sharon was showing Carol some picnic pictures in the dark parking lot and Carol asked, "Who's the guy in the goggles?" (aviator style sun glasses I always wore to this day) and I quietly said, "That's me...". Except for those words from Carol while looking at the pictures that Sharon had of the Crystal Beach picnic, I probably would have started dating your Mom, Sharon. I thought Carol might be interested in dating me, she did and the rest is Rock and Roll. Sharon and I had some wicked Facebook duels as I am a die-hard Trump supporter and she wasn't. But we were true friends always, no matter what. I'll always remember her raising Springer Spaniels. I got "Stormy" from her when Carol and I lived in Dayton, Ohio. Carol and I visited Sharon's Mom (Bea ?) in Holland, NY a lot when we were dating. She was always glad to see us "kids". The tribute card pictured above is the same one I chose for my wife Jeanette 19 months ago...

I met Sharon online, playing pinochle. We chatted a few times and found out we went to the same grade school. She and Homer came to spend the day with us on Grand Island and we cruised around in our boat. When Sharon came to Buffalo, she and Homer would visit with my daughter, their waitress, when they would have the fish fries. I knew Sharon was having a lot of health issues during the past few years. I hope that she was at home when she passed. My sympathy to her entire family. God took back another good person.
