Obituary
Sheila Mary (O’Farrell) Keenan, age 82, passed away in her home in Port Orange, Florida on August 7, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Originally from County Longford, Ireland, Sheila moved from Ireland to Birmingham, England in her early adulthood, there she met her husband Richard (Ron) and started a family before immigrating to the United States and settling in Danbury, Connecticut.
Sheila worked in several local churches in the Danbury area, most recently at St. Joseph Church where she was also a Eucharistic minister. She also worked at St George Orthodox Christian Church and the First Congregational Church.
She loved her Irish heritage. Sheila was a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and for several years played the tenor drum in the Celtic Cross Pipes and Drums bagpipe band. She will be remembered by everyone for her dedication, hard work and quick wit.
Sheila is survived by her husband Ron, and her two children, John of Port Orange, Florida and Collette of Boston, Massachusetts.
A private funeral Mass will be held in Port Orange, Florida with a Celebration of Life to be planned in Connecticut at a later date.
