Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of Shelley Raymaley Iorio, age 69 of New Smyrna Beach, announce her passing on February 16, 2021 at AdventHealth Daytona Beach.
Shelley was born on December 19, 1951 in Jeannette, Pennsylvania to parents Dora Lee and Chalmers Raymaley Jr. and grew up on her family’s farm in Harrison City, PA where she enjoyed many adventures with her sisters and brother. She was a graduate of Penn Joint High School in 1969. She attended Thiel College and graduated with a degree in English and Economics from SUNY Albany followed by Albany Law School. She devoted much of her life to raising her two children and then spent many years as a paralegal at offices in Deland, Daytona Beach and Orlando. She was passionate about helping underserved populations and served compassionately and generously.
She was an avid supporter of the arts. Some of her favorite memories were spent taking her children to the symphony and the ballet at Saratoga Performing Arts Center, introducing her grandsons to Vivaldi and taking them to the Nutcracker each year. She was a ravenous reader and loved swimming, bicycling, traveling, and riding wild horses in her youth!
Above all, she loved and served Jesus, her Lord and Savior. Her latter days were spent fervently studying the Word, praying, and showing love and kindness. She was truly a kind and gentle spirit and will be remembered for her devotion to her family as well as her compassion for all who crossed her path. “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Romans 12:12
She was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and her favorite role of all, Gigi (grandmother).
Shelley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Armand Anthony Iorio; son, Chalmers Armand Iorio; parents Dora Lee Raymaley and Leland Chalmers Raymaley Jr. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Stephen Anderson of New Smyrna Beach; cherished grandsons Josiah, Matthias, Asher, Judah; sisters and brothers Karen (Duane) Decker of New Smyrna Beach, Lissa (Michael) Smith of New Smyrna Beach, Leland Chalmers Raymaley III of Pittsburgh, PA; aunts and uncles Larry (Kathy) Pany of Level Green, PA, Connie Ventura of Latrobe, PA, Grace Zimmerman of Salem, Ohio, Shirley Remaley of Moline, IL, Maggi Mullennix of Delmont, PA; nieces and nephews Jeremy (Emmeline, Finnley, Piper) Decker of New Smyrna Beach, Kerry (Autumn, Maizy, Brooklyn, Ember Decker) Solero of New Smyrna Beach, Amanda (Nathan, Amira, Eden, Adalee) Schaidt of Tallahassee, Leland Chalmers Raymaley IV of North Huntington, PA, Jordan Raymaley of Derry, PA, Joel Raymaley of Murrysville, PA, Jonah Raymaley of Pittsburgh, PA, Sara Buccella of Trafford, PA, Chris (Katie) Smith of Ohio, Casey (Margaret, Ashton, Casey Jr.) Smith of Ohio, Cameron (Bayly) Smith of Chicago, IL; and many more cherished family members throughout the country.
A celebration of life will be held at 6:30pm on Tuesday, February 23 at Family Worship Center Port Orange. Private interment will take place at Canaveral National Cemetery. Flowers and condolences can be sent to the church at 4425 S. Ridgewood Avenue Port Orange, Florida 32127.

Shelley was a treasured friend who has left the world a brighter place through her love and kindness. She adored her daughter, Samantha, her son-in-law, Stephen, and her sweet grandsons. She loved them all dearly without reservation. She never let the opportunity to share scripture or her faith pass her by, offering words of comfort, peace and joy to all. I will miss those beautiful eyes and her beaming smile.

Dear family, So sorry to hear about Shelley. She lived across the street & came to visit us a lot. She was as beautiful & sweet as a child as she us described in her obituary. I use to take her to Sunday School with me. You can not know how sad I am that we were never able to always stay in touch. I sent her a letter when her son passed. Everyone please accept my sincere sympathy. Her dad Chalmers was my 1st Cousin. I am sure she is united with all if them.
