Obituary

SCHNIBBEN Surrounded by her loving family, Shirley “Toy” Schnibben, age 68, transitioned peacefully into Heaven on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Florida Hospital HospiceCare in Daytona Beach two years after being diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer. Born in Dover, New Hampshire to George “Brad” and Margaret Cochrane, her family moved to Lake Worth, Florida at the age of 2. She graduated from Lake Worth High School in 1967 and attended Palm Beach Community College until her fun-loving spirit led her to Daytona Beach, where she spent her free time on the beach with her beloved dog, Chic. It was there, in 1974 she met Randy, her loving and devoted husband of nearly 43 years.  Toy’s greatest love and top priority was her family. She was selfless and devoted her time and energy to loving and serving others. This unique quality combined with her intelligence and heart of gold, allowed her to be highly successful in all of her business ventures. She will forever be remembered by the people who were fortunate enough to have their lives touched by her for her contagious laugh, quick wit and always cracking everyone up (including herself!)  Toy was predeceased by her parents and eldest sister, Sue Ellen Foland. Survivors include her husband, Randy; two daughters, Shanda Schnibben and Brittany Schnibben-Fernandes (Christina); son, Brian Schnibben (Jill); two sisters, Sally Jenne (Marvin), Sherry Brick (Merrill); two brothers, Tom Cochrane (Sandy), Brad Cochrane (Kathy), and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.  Also left to cherish her memory are four grandchildren, Taylar, Ashlyn, Jathan and Rylee. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 6pm at Riverside Pavilion in Port Orange. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Toy’s church (CTK Port Orange) or the charity of your choice. We are sincerely grateful for her sister and best friend, Sally, for frequently traveling to be with her, and to Dr. Leslie Lee, his wonderful staff, and the exceptional caretakes at HospiceC
