Obituary

Sigfred William Matson, age 75, son of Mildred Zimmer Matson (deceased) and Sigfred Christian Matson (deceased) and loving husband of “Nancy” Lan Phuong Matson, passed away on May 31, 2018 in Ormond Beach Florida. He was the second of 6 children and survived by 4 sisters: Marie, Lois, Carol, Sherri, 1 brother Paul, his wife Nancy, 4 daughters: Mary, Margaret, Melinda, Monique, and 6 grandchildren. “Bill” Matson was a highly decorated veteran and civil servant, receiving the Bronze Star Medal, and numerous other medals of outstanding, expeditionary, and meritorious service during his long career. A private memorial service for immediate family was held on June 4th and a “Celebration of Life” service will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to one of his favorite causes, the “Wounded Warrior Project”.
