Obituary
Beloved mother, grandmother, and dear friend. Born Sonia Rebecca Haller to David and Winona Haller and raised in Jasper, Indiana, she attended Indiana University and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Catholic girls college as an art major. She met Robert Cunningham at a mutual friend’s wedding, they fell in love and were married in 1960. He later told their children that it was her dark, dancing gypsy eyes that first captured his heart. They moved to Indianapolis, Indiana soon after being married. She worked in retail- in management, and also as a makeup artist. She moved to Florida after she was widowed in 2012 to be near her children Mark and Marcia.
She loved animals and nature and she worried about the plight of marginalized people, donating to those causes regularly, from her small Social Security check. Sonia was funny and feisty and fierce.
She was Loved.
Survived by her son Mark Cunningham, her daughter Marcia Kimberlin, and her grandsons, Joshua and Daniel.
So long Mama Bear-Be careful out there. Godspeed.
