Sophie Mary Biggs, a resident of Lake Mary and formerly of Edgewater, passed away on December 18, 2008. She was 86. Mrs. Biggs is predeceased by her husband Dallas of 53 years. She is survived by her daughters Nancy (Thomas) Chesney of Diamondale Michigan and Eileen (Howard) Long of New Smyrna Beach, and one grandson Eric (Magda) Woodard of El Paso, Texas. She is also survived by her brother Ben (Josephine) Karash of Michigan, sister Delores (Conrad) Reneski of Michigan. Born in Detroit, Mrs. Biggs was employed as an inspector with the Ford Motor Company until her retirement in 1982. Mrs. Biggs came to the Edgewater Area in 1997 after living in Belleview, Florida since 1982. While a resident in Belleview, she was a volunteer with the Munroe County Hospital in Ocala for 15 years.
