Obituary

Sprague B. Lyons 1936–2022, a longtime resident of Bondville, VT and Fort Myers, FL, died Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Hope Hospice.  He was born on November 14, 1936 in his family home in Bondville, VT.  The  son of Frederick E. and Olivia P. Burbank Lyons.  He was predeceased by all his siblings, Francesca and Robert Gray, Shirley and Elton Coleman, Kennon and Helen Lyons, Frederick and Joyce Lyons.  Nephews Robert and Ann Gray, Bud Maher and niece Sheila and Tom Eddy.
Sprague leaves his dearest companion of 37 years Mona Lyman, her 4 children, spouses and 10 grandchildren.  Along with his own 5 nieces, 3 nephews, 14 grand nieces, 2 grand nephews and a good number of great grand nieces and nephews.  He graduated from Leland and Gray Seminary in1955.  He served his country as a member of the Army from July 1959 – June 1961.  He retired from the ever-changing Ma-Bell after 23 years as an AT&T manager.  He was a member of Mount Lebanon Lodge #46 Free and Accepted Masons in Jamaica,Vt., a member of CAIRO Shriners Temple #90 in Rutland, Vt., the Sons of the American Revolution, Fraternal Order of the Eagles and VFW.  He was a strong community member; a member of the Winhall Volunteer Fire Department, a long time member of the Winhall Industrial Society (Bondville Fair Association), the Bondville Cemetary Assoc. and the Winhall Select Board from 1986-1995.
