Obituary

Funeral Mass for Stanley J Lenart, New Smyrna Beach who died Saturday, April 12, 2014 will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 21 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery. Stanley was born in Chicago, IL and came to this area in 1999 from Batavia, IL. He coached and taught school for 35 years, was an avid runner having participated int the Chicago Marathon twice and played the accordion. He is survived by he wife of 62 years Joan, children Anita Zavala, Cheryl Lenart, Andrea Sarro, Brian Lenart, Bruce Lenart, Greg Lenart, brother Joseph Lenart, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

    My deepest sympathies. "Mr. Lenart" was a most gifted educator at a time in my life when I needed attention. ( I had two baby brothers at home.) He always knew just what to say and challenged us to do our very best. What a blessing he was to so many young people! I so enjoyed babysitting for your children.

    So sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of Mr Lenart. He was my 6th grade teacher at Louise White . Great man.
