In loving memory of Stanley Vincent Leosewski Jr

Obituary

Stanley Leosewski passed away peacefully on Friday October 15, 2010, at the age of 94. He had resided in New Smyrna Beach, Florida for 20 years. Stanley was born in Rock Wood, Pennsylvania on July 1, 1916 to Stanislaus Leoszewski and Stefania Laskowska Leoszewski. He was the eldest of eight children, and is survived by his siblings Joseph and Walter Leosewski, Ann Radziewicz and Sophie Shaulis. Stanley served in the US Army during WWII, in the Pacific theater. Initially, he saw action with the 128th Infantry Regiment in New Guinea. He was later transferred to the Army Engineers in Australia, where he worked as a draftsman on operational plans for the proposed invasion of Japan. While in Australia, he was blessed to meet and marry Patricia J. Reilly and had the first of six children, Stephanie Ann, named for his mother. Upon returning to civilian life in the USA, he went on to have three more daughters--Patricia, Barbara and Christine—a son, Anthony—and his last daughter, Mary Jill. Stanley worked in the construction field, building homes in Pennsylvania and swimming pools in the Fort Lauderdale area, where he moved the family in 1957. He passed his knowledge and skills to his son, Tony, who currently designs and builds luxury pools in the Ocala Area. During his retirement years, he enjoyed completing home improvement projects, spending time with his grandchildren and, in his later years, challenging himself with crossword puzzles. Stanley is survived by his wife of 66 years, by all six of his children, and sons-in-law, Frank Scott (Patty), Mark Brown (Barbara) and Tony Adkins (Christine). In addition, he leaves behind nine grandchildren: Stephanie’s daughter, Kyle Lindsey (Doyle) Patty’s daughters, Tracy Staiger (Thomas) and Kristy Scott, Barbara’s daughters, Joanna and Elizabeth Reilly-Brown, Christine’s children, Coleman and Sarah Adkins, Tony’s son, Patrick Leosewski and Mary Jill’s son, Maximilian Sagraves. Also surviving Stanley are eight great-grandchildren: Hunter and Jack Alanna and Axel and Lucas, Sierra, Jasmine and Nicholas Leosewski. In addition to those mentioned above, numerous Leosewki/Laskowski cousins, nieces and nephews, grands and great- grands also survive Stanley. Stanley was predeceased by his parents and three of his siblings, Agnes Leosewski, Blanche Leosewski Kondik, and Roman Leosewski. rn A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Stanley’s parish church, Our Lady Star of the Sea, in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, on Friday, October 22, 2010.
