Dale and Jim ... words fail. When the pain and anger hit the threshold, I turn to humor ; as mom always said ...”never lose your sense of humor” . So I chose to remember us all having a good time at Waimea Falls( back in the day when all the boys could cliff dive). When we were not paying attention, it was Steven who pulled Mike and Matt out from under the water fall before they got sucked under! Great days in Hawaii with the family - even Jim who hates the beach Spent about two hours boogey boarding with the boys. We will laugh again one day ... but not just yet. And not quite the same. Love you all.

To Dale, Jim, Kim, Alycia, Casey and all the Members of the Dougherty Family,
Please accept deepest condolences from the Cicilline Family. We remember Steve with great fondness. He always had a beautiful smile and warm heart. There were those special days when he played hockey at St. George’s with Jimmy and Joe and Paul Cicilline. It was truly delightful times when our families got together there. Steve was a free spirit, finding a way to have fun whenever and wherever he could. Others were drawn to him. He made others feel happy because he was so easy-going, showing us how to enjoy the moment. We will keep him and the Dougherty Family in our prayers.
    Most sincerely,
Bud Cicilline & the Cicilline Family

Dale, Jim & Kim & family,
Waking up to the news last Saturday morning was devastating. I am so heartbroken. Steven was such a wonderful friend to me and so many others. Having known each other since we were tiny tots we were more like family, it took a while for this to really sink in. I cannot imagine the pain your going through. We are praying for all of you and you are always in our thoughts. Steven-give Mom, Dad & Jimmy a hug for me, until we meet again.
