Obituary

On November 5, 2023, Steven G. Crumley, aged 81, entered heaven to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born on March 16, 1942, to Paul F. and Alice Mary (Beers) Crumley. His life was a remarkable journey marked by service, faith, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around him.

Steven’s early years were spent in Fort Ann, New York, where he graduated from Fort Ann Central School in 1960. He went on to attend college for two years. In 1962, he joined the United States Navy and graduated from the Naval Photography School in Pensacola, Florida. He proudly served his country and was stationed at NAS Jacksonville, Florida, from 1962 to 1966.

During this time, Steven married his high school sweetheart, Linda Mae Knapp, in 1963. Their love story spans six decades, filled with a shared faith and cherished memories. Together, they have journeyed across the country from NY (1966-2000), to Roswell, NM (2001-2011), and then to Ocala, FL from 2012 to present, making many lifelong friends along the way.

Steven’s love for photography was a lifelong passion, and he excelled at capturing the beauty of the landscapes around him. You could often find him hiking through the scenic trails around Lake George, the rugged beauty of Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico and the lush landscape of the Greenway Trails in Ocala. In addition to his photography, Steven would write poetry and compose piano songs.

His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Ocala, FL.

Steven is survived by his loving wife, Linda, and their children, Tamalin Sue and husband, Guy Martin, Timothy Steven and wife, Hannah Crockett, and Scott Matthew and wife, Gina Caccavo, along with his sister, Mary Alice Thompson and her children.  His legacy continues on through several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held from 2-4 pm on Friday, November 17, 2023 at

Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society in Timber Ridge,

11250 SW 93rd Ct. Rd.  Ocala, FL 34481.  (352) 236-7813.
