Obituary

Susan M. Dotson, born on June 21, 1950, in Quincy, Massachusetts, to her father, Chester Forsyth Jr., and mother, Georgina (Gillan) Forsyth, peacefully passed away in Orlando, Florida, on Friday, September 22, 2023. Susan proudly served her country in the United States Air Force. She spent the majority of her life residing in Williamson, West Virginia, where she dedicated herself to a fulfilling career as a pediatric nurse at Dr. Pajarillo’s pediatric clinic.

Beyond her professional life, Susan enjoyed bowling on a league. In her later years, she used online trivia and card games to connect with friends and family. As an active member of the First United Methodist Church during her years in Williamson, she delighted in singing with the choir. Those who knew Susan were aware of her uncanny ability to gauge the atmosphere of a room and her remarkable gift for humor, which never failed to entertain.

Throughout her life, Susan and her twin sister, Georgina (Jean) Teeters, shared a special bond filled with mischievous pranks and endless laughter. Together, they formed an unforgettable pair.
Susan was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Teeters, as well as her brothers, George Forsyth and Chester Forsyth III. She is survived by her elder sister, Nancy (George) Spiggle of Hudson, Florida, who remained a constant source of love and support. Additionally, Susan leaves behind her daughter, Georgina Herron of Joliet, Illinois, and her son and daughter-in-law, Bradley (BJ) and Dana Dotson of Orlando, Florida. Her memory lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Kyra Dotson, Ashley Schaller, Zachary Schaller, and Addison Dotson, and a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom were profoundly impacted by her presence in their lives.

Susan has spent the last weeks of her life reconnecting with family, loved ones, and friends, leaving her with the satisfaction of meaningful interactions. Susan requested no formal funeral arrangements or memorials. Instead, she hopes to be remembered for the vibrant, lively spirit she exuded in life. We invite you to make a donation to the Red Cross in her honor, in place of sending flowers.
Susan cherished her time on this earth, and in keeping with her wishes, a small cremation ceremony, attended only by close family, will be conducted, with her ashes shared among family members.

I'm just seeing this. Ms. Sue was my nurse in Williamson under Dr. Pajorillo. I am 31 years old now but, she was always on my mind after I grew up. Such a wonderful and caring person. She was the only one I would let give me shots! Loved her dearly! My heart goes out to the family! God Bless! RIP Ms. Sue

I have many good memories of Aunt Sue from spending time out the house on Riverside Drive to trips taken such as visiting Poppy in Baltimore when his ship was docked there. It was always loud and mostly fun when your mom and her sisters were together. Your mom was always taking care of kids even when she wasn’t working at the office. I got the firmest reprimand from your mom when she heard me making fun of one of my classmates. She loved and protected fiercely.
