Obituary
Susan “Sue” Janice (Hirschfeld) Meek, 73, passed away on April 28, 2018 in Cape Coral, Florida with her family at her side. Sue was born to the late Alfred and Winifred Hirschfeld in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 25, 1944. When Sue was 13 years old she moved with her family to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On September 10, 1966 she married the love of her life, Don Meek. On August 14, 1968 Sue and Don were blessed with a daughter, Kathy. While in Cedar Rapids, Sue enjoyed running her Diet Center franchises and in the mid-1990’s Sue was awarded the Distinguished Operations Award by Diet Center Corporate for the best owner-managed Diet Center within a region of 140 centers. Sue moved to Cape Coral, Florida with her husband Don in 2005 and became members of the Faith Presbyterian Church of Cape Coral. Our beloved Sue enjoyed her days with her husband Don in Cape Coral going out on their boat; enjoying cocktails out on their lanai; laughing together; taking care of their two Shih Tzu’s, Max and Mandy; and her daily phone calls with her daughter, Kathy. Preceding her in death were her parents Al and Winnie Hirschfeld. Sue is survived by her husband, Donald “Don” Meek of Cape Coral, Florida; her daughter Kathryn “Kathy” Sue (Peter) Marquis of Atlanta, Georgia; grandson Jack Marquis; and brothers Robert Hirschfeld (Maggie) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Donald Hirschfeld (Debra) of Dallas, Texas. A memorial service will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church, 4544 Coronado Pkwy, Cape Coral, FL 33904 on Saturday May 12 at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sue’s memory may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church. Information about the church may be found at www.fpcfl.org.
I was sorry to see of Susan's death. I recall with fondness your participation in St. Paul's Church. I deeply appreciated all the help you have been to me Don. Your willingness to assume chairmanship of the Administrative Board was much appreciated by me. You were most helpful. I can only imagine what an empty place this leaves in your life, but be assured that God's comfort and presence will be with you, especially in these difficult days as you adjust to this great loss.

Thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Sue was a beautiful lady, and you will have many wonderful memories. Hope you see you at some time this
summer.
We will be with you in spirit at Sue's memorial service. She was a bright light in our family, and will be missed.
God's blessings!
They are brown she said. I said did you peel them? "You didn't tell me too" said Sue. She was great. Prayers to Don and all the family.
