Sydney V. Jones, Jr., 89, of Ocala, FL passed away April 4, 2021.  He was born in Mount Vernon, NY to the late Sydney V., Sr. and Marion E. (Atwell) Jones.  Mr. Jones was a graduate of A.B. Davis High School, Mt. Vernon, NY.  He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, serving on the USS Columbus and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy Occupation Medal as well as the Navy Good Conduct Medal during his service.  He retired after 25 years of service as a computer field engineer for Texas Instruments. He relocated to Ocala in 2013 from Port St. Lucie, FL and was a Life Member of Ocala VFW Post 4781 and the OTOW Republican Club.  He enjoyed fishing, tinkering, gardening and supported the US Navy Memorial.  Mr. Jones enjoyed VFW fish fries on Friday nights with friends and was well liked by everyone.  He is survived by his children, Deborah Famini of Ocala, FL, Kenneth S. Jones of Schenectady, NY and Dianna Miller of Doylestown, PA; brother, Ronald H. Jones (Lorrie) of Sandy Hook, CT; sister, Nancy Wessel (Kenneth) of Ocala, FL; nephew, James M. Wessel (Maria) and great nephew Selwyn J. Wessel of Fairbanks, AK; nieces, Marne L Onderdonk (Mike Belski) of Clifton Park, NY and Katherine Kovic of Waterbury, CT; grandchildren, Shannon Famini, Kirsten Famini, Matthew Miller and Amanda Miller. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Steven Miller. Sydney enjoyed coffee and friends on his porch daily.
