Obituary

Tamara (Doerr) Dunn, known to her family and friends as Tami, passed away on the evening of December 10, 2023, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida.  Tami moved from Cincinnati, Ohio to Cape Coral, Florida with her family in 1987, living the last two decades of her life in North Fort Myers surrounded by close friends.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Judy; her daughter, Jessica (Scott) Davis, Columbus, Ohio; her three former stepdaughters Kristina (Nathan) Davis, Fort Myers, Florida; Tamara “Tee” (Benjamin) Cooper, Raleigh, North Carolina; Kimberly (Denis) Dunn, Valrico, Florida; her brothers Dr. Edward Christopher, State College, Pennsylvania; Robert Doerr, Mansfield, Ohio; and her beloved eight grandchildren.  She is predeceased by her parents, W. Robert Doerr and Judith (Fisher) Christopher, her stepfather Hon. Stanley Christopher, and her beloved grandparents, Lillian and William Doerr.

Tami was born in San Bernardino, California and raised by her grandparents in Madeira, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati.  Tami loved music and was a captivating vocalist who enjoyed participating in vocal competitions as a teenager.  She graduated from Madeira High School in 1976 and received an Associate Degree in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati. After relocating to Florida, Tami helped run a cleaning company and, in her later years, worked as a substitute teacher.  She absolutely loved working in the classroom with children of all ages being sure to impart in them an appreciation for persons with disabilities.

Tami enjoyed the Florida sunshine, the sand between her toes and spending time with her friends and family.  She was an active volunteer with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, enjoyed cruising with her fellow “MS Cruisers” and a faithful Jehovah’s Witness.  Tami loved to travel and recounted many stories from her trips to Alaska, Jamaica and the Bahamas.  She battled her MS, and later PML, diagnoses with grace and tenacity.  She always wore a smile, had a great sense of humor and an unbelievable sense of optimism.  Her warm beautiful smile and big brown eyes matched her loving heart which will forever be remembered by her family and friends.  Tami was a charismatic, strong, determined, beautiful woman who never met a stranger.

A Memorial Service will be held on December 30, 2023, at 3:00PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 701 Hutto Road, North Fort Myers, Florida 33903.

I am so sorry to hear this about Tami Doerr-Dunn… Tami was in our first Cape Coral MS support group that met originally at Cape Coral hospital. Tami organized our MS walk events, ordered the T-shirts every year and was a vibrant enthusiastic member of our group. She lit up the room wherever she went! She organized cruises with the MS Society, the cruises for a cause. I will dearly miss her, and may she be with the Lord in heaven, I pray in Jesus.❤️❤️❤️

Tami and I went on several cruises together. We became very good friends and she became a dearly beloved spiritual sister to me. We had some awesome times together. She will be truly missed and I can’t wait to see her in paradise.
