Terry Lee Ray, 59 of Orlando died Friday, June 22, 2012. Terry was born January 22, 1953 in Asheville, North Carolina. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. Terry’s proudest service time was during President Regan’s tenure. Terry had a heart of gold and was a friend to many. His fun loving, big teddy bear exterior is what made Terry special. His kindred spirit of the space program, computers, and anything Sci Fi will be forever remembered by all that knew him. He will be remembered for being a loyal and honest friend, as well as a devoted son, husband, and Poppy. Terry is survived by his loving wife, Tracy; mother, Dollie Ray; step-sons, Tony and Eric Hart; five granddaughters, Allegra, Madison, Emma, Annalise and Catherine and sister, Elena and her husband, Doyce Revis, niece Vanessa , great nephew Cole, and great-niece Vivian.
In honor of his deep patriotism and love of the space program a life celebration will be held July 4th at 2pm near Kennedy Space Center where he will be honored with a release of 21 red, white, blue balloons that contain personal messages to Terry. The family is requesting that all who wish to honor and remember Terry please take a moment on that day and at that time and also release balloons with their personalized messages. Since Terry had friends from all over the globe, he can be remembered by everyone simultaneously. This memorial will be a tribute to Terry and his love of diversity- as exemplified by his vast number of friends from all walks of life.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting instead that a donation be made in Terry's memory to the American Diabetic Association for research.
