A very special wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Theresa Asencio, 76, died on January 13, 2013 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Theresa had the very strong ability to love, enjoy a laugh and always offered compassion to someone in need. She was a gentle soul who listened without judgment and offered comfort and care to her friends and family.

Throughout her career she worked at Barclay’s Knitwear and The Danbury News Times. In 2003 she retired to New Smyrna Beach, Florida where she was an active volunteer at the Bert Fish Medical Center.
She is survived to her husband of 58 years and their three sons; Anthony Asencio, Michael Asencio, Alex Asencio and wife Kim, three grandchildren; Audra Jowdy, Tara Inigo and AJ Asencio, one great granddaughter; Laila Inigo, and one brother; Louis Matry.
She was her family’s heart and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your grandmother. I always enjoyed visiting her at her house and hearing her laugh and words of advice. I know how much she meant to the both of you. Heaven has gained another special person.
