Obituary
On Friday, April 24, Therese Ann Steele, passed away at Legacy House, a Hospice of Marion County in Ocala, Florida. She was only 71 years young and her passing was very unexpected after entering the hospital only a week prior. Terri (as she preferred) was born and raised in Ohio but eventually life and her love, husband Richard of 23 years, came to settle down in Florida where they have been since 2004. Terri was also the mother of Brian Fay (deceased) and Jacquelin Casanova who also resides in Florida and stepmother to Jennifer Steele (deceased) and Jason Steele who lives in Ohio. Sadly, she also leaves behind 2 grandchildren from Jacquelin and 2 from Jason, her brother Jim Smola and his family and sister June Sciarappa and her family. Terri is preceded in death by her brother Bill Smola, Brian Fay, and Jennifer Steele. Both Jacquelin and Richard were grateful to be able to be by Terri’s side once she entered Legacy House before the Lord took her under His care.
For those that knew Terri well, knew she was the most amazing cook. She would spend hours in the kitchen creating dishes worthy of any restaurant. She was kind, witty and was always ready to lend a hand. Terri was very proud of her home garden of tomatoes and different herbs and was an avid crafter. When she wasn’t in the kitchen, you could find her reading or at the pool in her community.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, the family is saddened to not have a formal service but all are welcome to provide a memory that will never fade and give the gift of a donation to Legacy House through the Hospice of Marion County at https://www.hospiceofmarion.com/ways-to-give/ .
I am heartbroken, just knowing that you are not across the fairway to send a big wave

You were a fantastic neighbor and person with a great heart. Your laugh was contagious. Things like this only happen to good people like you and Dick. We'll meet again someday! I miss you very much and my heart is broken. Love you.
