Obituary
Thomas Charles Kuhns, age 72, of Ocala, passed away suddenly on March 19, 2023 at his home. Thom was born on January 26, 1951 to his parents, William and Doris Kuhns in Oberlin, Ohio. He retired in 2006 after 33 years with the United States Postal Service. He was an inventor, a builder of houses and decks and could repair and create anything. He built saltwater aquariums and was a boater and fisherman. His family was the most important thing in his life. He loved to tease with them and always was there to come to the rescue. He was a Presbyterian and an Elder in the Presbyterian church. His family and friends will miss him forever.
Thom is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy, of Ocala; his son, Thomas Charles (Kathy) Kuhns II of Cooper City; his daughter Amy Roberts of Ocala; his daughter Lindsay (Andrew) Leeds of Boca Raton; his dear granddaughters, Kierstin, Madison, Logan, Maleea and Lina; his sisters, Wanita (Michael) Schoenbrod, of Alachua; Rene Thornton of Ocala; Shelly (Paul) Grune of Gainesville; and his parents, William and Doris Kuhns of Gainesville.

I just found out about Thom passing. I am praying for comfort for you all. I always thought so highly of your sweet family and will always remember his wonderful smile and great attitude. Thinking of you, Anna
Thom will be so missed and I only know him for 50 years my friend and even mentor when we work for the post office. He stood beside me when I needed him so much as a friend. Because that’s what fishing buddies do standing next to your friends, talking laughing doesn’t matter whether you’re catching or not, we always laugh together. We will talk about god in our daily life, and we would always reflect his goodness.
This nice guy did get the girl. He and Kathy were a great role model of love and faith.
Life is too short not to keep in touch with those we love. Class reunions are not enough.
Our love and sympathy go to Kathy and their children and granddaughters and all of Thom's family.

I am so very sorry to learn of Tom’s sudden passing. Please know your friends are praying for you all.
These are my Thom's (and my Kathy), this is what I will remember, love, laughter, spunkiness, so intelligent, kind, always tinkering, always fixing something, always thinking about how he can help someone, and a trickster! that was my Father in law, & I will miss him beyond words. I am also thankful that he gave me my Thom, a true chip off the bock, and a family to be a part of that is equally all the things he was. We use to joke as we would say good by, be safe and have fun, stay out of trouble....then we would pause, but then if you aren't getting in trouble you aren't having fun, and we said it to each other just a couple of days ago, I know you will have fun (and get into a bit of trouble) with the loved ones that met you on your journey, we will look for you in all the memories, projects and family still here. I love you Thom.
