Obituary
Thomas Joseph Eagles, 74, passed away on August 20, 2020. He was born on September 3, 1945 in Coatesville, Pennsylvania to Chester Eagles Sr. and Vivian (Horton) Eagles. Tom is survived by his wife Terry Jean (Blair) Eagles, Carole (Winterbottom) Eagles of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, first wife and mother of his children, daughter Jill Eagles of Downingtown, Pennsylvania and son Ryan Eagles of Brandywine, Maryland. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Albright of Coatesville, Pennsylvania. Tom’s brother, Chester Eagles Jr. preceded him in death in January 2020.
Tom attended St. Cecilia Catholic school and Coatesville Area Senior High School. After high school Tom enrolled in Temple University. He was transferring to Drexel University when he was drafted. He joined the National Guard serving six years and returned to Drexel to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. He worked at Lukens Steel in Coatesville for 20 years and then Nice Specialty Bearings in Kulpsville where he became the plant manager. Tom was a plant manager with other companies until he retired in 2010 at which time he and his wife moved to Ocala, Florida.
Tom was an avid golfer and excelled at the game. He loved playing golf on several leagues and with his wife and their friends. He also loved the game of pool. Tom belonged to a pool league in their Florida community and looked forward to playing three times a week with “the boys.” Tom deeply loved his wife and his children and he will be missed beyond words.
