Obituary

Thomas E. Brydon, age 78, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Flat Rock, North Carolina passed away on Thursday February 26. He was born in Newark, New Jersey on December 17, 1930 to parents Harry and Frances Brydon. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Patricia, his son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Sylvia Brydon, his daughter and son-in-law, Fran and Marty Lyons, his daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Mike Criscolo. He was a wonderful grandfather to his six grandchildren: Drew and Kate Brydon, Blair and Joey Lyons, and Leah and Stephen Criscolo. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and John Walsh as well as three nieces and four nephews. Tom graduated from Villanova University and also received a graduate degree from Rutgers University. He served in the US Army. He had a successful career in the plastics/polymers industry, working for many years for Celanese Corporation. He later worked in his own business, Xcel Corporation, in Newark, New Jersey. After many years he sold the business to Georgia-Pacific Corporation. He enjoyed many happy years of golf and retirement with his good friends from New Jersey, Sugar Mill and Kenmure. Tom was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather, and a good friend.
