Thomas Gerhard Huelsemann (Gery),82, passed away peacefully at his home in Cape Coral, FL, on February 13, 2018 of cancer.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 31, 1935 to Henry and Mary Ethel (Walsh) Huelsemann. Gery attended Roger Bacon High School and afterward served in the U.S. Marine Corps with an Honorable Discharge in 1956.
Shortly thereafter, Gery met Lorene Mathias and they were married on Feb 22, 1958 in her hometown of New Philadelphia, Ohio. They then raised a family of four children in Fairfield, Ohio in the Cincinnati region and eventually retired to Cape Coral, FL in 1990. They would of celebrated their 60th anniversary this month.
Gery was a terrific salesman, with the bulk of his career being a top sales rep for Parker Brothers/Hasbro for two decades covering OH, KY, and IN. He named the boat he owned “Monopoly” for good reason.
He had a very charismatic and congenial personality and loved to laugh and tell jokes. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend.
He loved golfing, boating, camping, classic cars, sports, handyman projects, and many other interests.
Gery was preceded in death by his brother Clay Huelseman. He is survived by his loving wife Lorene, son Kevin (Mary Jo), daughters Michelle, Melanie (Randy) and Kristy (John), grandchildren Ryan, Chloe, Brent, Garrett, and Peyton, step-grandchildren Jared and Missy, great-grandson Carter, and step-great-grandchildren Brian, Josie, Jacklyn, and Dale.
A Memorial Service for Gery will be held at 10:30 am Friday March 2, 2018 at Hope Care Center, 2430 Diplomat Pkwy, Cape Coral, FL. Cremation was coordinated by Affordable Cremations by Baldwin Brothers.
