Thomas John Hickey, age 78, a long time resident of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully with his wife, Janice, at his side on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at the Cornerstone Hospice.

Thomas was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, on October 6, 1943 and was raised in North Easton, Massachusetts.  He attended Boston School for the Deaf.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Judith Hickey, and sister Judith Pomfret.  He is survived by his wife of 36 years, sister Anne Daley, and brother-in-law, George Daley of North Easton, Massachusetts; as well as loving nieces and nephew.

Thomas was employed Hesse Eastern and Thermador/Waste King as a welder in Brockton totaling 30 years and maintenance at Deerwood Mobile Home Park in Orlando for 16 years.

Thomas was a basketball player and a member of the Deaf Alumni Association and several deaf clubs.  He was a happy going man and will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.  He loved fishing, playing bocce, and golfing especially driving around with the golf cart.  He loved Dunkin Donuts and constantly sang Don’t Worry Be Happy.  He will forever be missed by those who knew and loved him especially his jokes and smiling face.
