Obituary
Thomas Martin O’Brien, Jr, 95 of Daytona beach died Thursday June 9, 2016 with his family by his side. Tom was born March 26, 1921 in New York, New York to the late Thomas Sr and Julia Maley O’Brien. After high school he join the US Army and served his country during WW II. Tom served with the 70 Division, 274 Infantry Company D in France and Germany. He received numerous medals some of which were the Bronze Star, Sharpshooters Medal, French Commendation and Combat Infantry Badge. Tom retired from the United States Postal Service as a Postal Carrier after many years of service. He and his late wife, Edith enjoyed their retirement years in Cape Cod and Florida. Tom was preceded in death by his son, William. He is survived by three sons, Christopher and his wife, Ira of Ponce Inlet, FL, Steven and his wife, Janice of Bridgewater, MA and Michael and his wife, Jeannie of Dallas, GA; seven grandchildren, Caytie, Chris, Carley, Christina, Daniel, Sean Michael and Casey Paul. A mass of Christian Burial will be 5PM, Monday, June 13, 2016 at Epiphany Catholic Church, 201 Lafayette Street, Port Orange. Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA where he will be laid to rest next to his wife, Edith.
