Obituary

Thomas Kosiorek

December 6, 1944 – February 1, 2022

Son of the late Joseph M. Kosiorek, Tommy, Tom, or Ski, as he was known to his friends and shipmates, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2022. A Vietnam veteran, he served in the US Navy as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Fuel Handler Airman (ABFAN) on the Bon Homme Richard (CVA31) from 1962 to 1966. He left the service to marry and raise a family with his sweetheart Nora (Ouelette) Kosiorek who, after 50 years of marriage, predeceased him in 2016.

He leaves behind his beloved second wife, Wendy Vaz of Port Orange, FL; a son Kevin Kosiorek, and his wife Lisa, of Minneola, FL; a daughter Renee Alley and her husband Lance, of Winton, CA; his sisters Pat Cloud of Virginia Beach, VA and Sharon Schuschu (deceased 2021) of Oviedo, FL, 8 grandchildren: Alyssa Tooker, Ciera Sideri, Genna Kosiorek, Kayla Kosiorek, Nathan Vinson, Seth Vinson, Lacey Pedranti, and Sadey Pedranti, nieces Angela and Sabrina Cushing, grandnephew Ethan Cushing-Chase, and grandniece Caydence Serrano.

He was an avid volunteer for veterans’ organizations such as Eagles Post 4449 of Winter Springs, Vietnam and all Veterans of Central Florida (The Bunker), Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10139, Chuluota, FL and was a founding member and president of the Bunker Riders
Tom lived by this piece of advice from his hero – his father: “Laugh every day, even if you have to laugh at yourself.”

Thank you Tom for four years of laughter and adventure. I wish we could've had more time together but I am thankful for what we had. I love you and appreciate your daily efforts to make me laugh - even though it was sometimes tough. Give your daddy and Nora big hugs for me and go in peace to whatever comes next. I will carry you in my heart always.
