Obituary

Thomas Walton “Tim” Keen, Sr. passed away this Saturday April 28, 2012 in Altamonte Springs, Florida.  Born in Valdosta, Georgia on September 1, 1945, Tim grew up in Richmond, Virginia and Orlando, Florida.  Tim and his family moved from Richmond to San Juan, Puerto Rico in June 1960.  Following three years in Puerto Rico, in January 1964 Tim and his family moved to Orlando where he attended Colonial High School.  Shortly thereafter he was blessed with two wonderful children, Tim Jr. and Bob Keen.  A few years later, the boys were joined with three beautiful sisters, Beth, Julie and MaryAnn.    Tim worked for the GAF Corporation, the Waffle House organization, US Home Corporation, and most recently was in charge of leasing at the Unicorp National Development organization.  An active work-out nut, Tim spent many hours at the RDV Sports Complex.                                                                                                                                             Tim was married and is survived by the love of his life, Marian of seventeen years, as well as his sons Tim Jr. and Bob, both of Longwood, his three daughters, Beth, Julie and MaryAnn, all of Chicago, along with grandchildren Jim Scimeca, Christopher Larsen, Shelby Diel, Nick Scimeca, Melissa Larsen, Jessica Diel, Kailey Grove, Bryant Diel, Ella Larsen, Allison Grove, Brianna Larsen all of Chicago, B.J. Keen of Pensacola, Jenna Keen, Haleigh Keen, Lauryn Keen, Chloe Wolfson and Max Wolfson all of Longwood, and a great-grandchild, Jinelle Keen of Pensacola, his brother Allan Keen of Winter Park, and his Aunt Joan and Uncle Bob Murphy of Ocala.   A quiet and peaceful man, Tim was loved and revered by his family and friends.  His quiet compassion was one of his most important traits.  The morning of the day he died, Tim was in bed with three of his grandchildren watching cartoons.  He then went to work out with two of his daughters, Beth and MaryAnn and their husbands.  While doing what he loved to do, and with people with whom he loved, Tim passed away peacefully.   God Bless Tim and his family, and may the soul of Tim through the mercy of God rest in peace forever.   A Life Celebration will be held from 6-8PM, Wednesday, May 2th at the Interlachen Country Club, 2245 Interlachen Ct., Winter Park.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30PM, Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1020 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs.  Immediately following burial will take place at Glen Haven Cemetery, Winter Park.  Visitation will be prior to mass from 1 – 1:30PM.    A Life Celebration will be held from 6-8PM, Wednesday, May 2th at the Interlachen Country Club, 2245 Interlachen Ct., Winter Park.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30PM, Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1020 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs.  Immediately following burial will take place at Glen Haven Cemetery, Winter Park.  Visitation will be prior to mass from 1 – 1:30PM.
