Obituary

On January 15, 2024, Thomas Ross Willett, 86, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away with the grace and dignity that characterized his life. Born on February 16, 1937, in Fancy Farm, Kentucky, to James Devela Willett and Lillian Philamena Hobbs Willett, both of whom precede him in death.

Ross was a man of warmth, humor, and considerable charm. Ross’ spirit was a beacon that drew others toward him, a testament to his character and the authentic life he led. His distinctive southern drawl and the twinkle in his eye were only outshone by the love he had for his family and the community he so dearly cherished. Whether it was Sunday dinners with the family, or Texas Hold’em with his Crystal Lakes friends he was a force to be reckoned with. You could often find him riding around on his golf court, speaking to all he came across.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Dixie Thompson Willett, his loving children, Richard (Rick) Willett and wife Connie, and her children Carly and Tyler, Deborah (Deb) Arthurs and husband Dan, and his adored grandson, Marcus Arthurs. His youngest son, Thomas (Tom) Willett, has welcomed him into the next life, along with his mother and father.

A graduate of Fancy Farm High School, Ross went on to establish and run Personal Touch Pool Service for over three decades. His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence left a lasting imprint on the industry.

Ross found joy in the simple pleasures of life, exemplified by his Sunday card games with family and his regular outings with friends at Crystal Lakes. His amiable nature was a gift to all who knew him.

He reached out and was always so nice to me, He invited me into his Poker Group which was always so much fun, and I still continue to play. Hasn't been the same since Ross hasn't played but I still enjoy it very much. Ross will forever be in my Heart as one of my 1st friends here in Crystal Lakes. Hugs to all of You. RIP Ross.
