Obituary
Timothy Edwin McPeters, 69, of South Daytona, Florida passed away on October 19, 2016 at the Halifax Health Hospice -Ormond Beach Care Center. He was born on September 24, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Homer and Nora (Meyers) McPeters.
Timothy served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Cocoa Beach and was a Vietnam Veteran. He received his BS at UT Dallas and completed his MS at Florida State University in 1991. Tim founded K.I.D.S. in 1992, a non-profit counseling association that worked with the courts to provide family counseling and guidance in Tallahassee, Florida and subsequently throughout the panhandle. Tim worked as Executive Director of K.I.D.S. until the early 2000’s, at which time, he moved to Daytona Beach to be near his beloved Atlantic Ocean, where he spent his time renovating his 1972 Nova for antique car events.
Timothy is survived by his daughter, Tamara Bennett of Southlake, Texas; his three grandchildren, Travis, Reese, and Davis; his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Susan McPeters of Davenport, IA; his nephew, Michael McPeters Jr. of Cedar Rapids, IA; his niece, Aimee McPeters of Elmhurst, IL; and his aunt, Mary Storey of Tulsa, OK. Known as Timbo to his friends, he was a gregarious man with a penchant to quip and always ready with a joke. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. His ashes will be scattered by the family in the Atlantic at a future date. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, Port Orange, Florida.
