Timothy J. Getchell, age 50, of Jacksonville Florida, beloved son of Rita M. Getchell and the late Owen G. Getchell died suddenly May 11, 2020. Tim grew up in Beacon Falls and graduated from Seymour High School. Tim lived in CT, ME, FL, GA, SC then returning to Florida to be close to his Mom. Tim was recently furloughed from Fed-Ex Freight where he worked 9 years as a driver while living in CT, FL, GA, and SC. Previously he was a truck driver for Walmart, A. Duie Pyle, and Sorenson. Tim loved cats, be it his own 8, or any stray/feral cats he crossed paths with. He took the time to ensure that no cat went hungry; this was his passion to save them all. He was an avid Red Sox and Buffalo Bills fan. Tim loved to ride his motor cycles and listen to country music. Tim loved to spend time with his family and friends and chatting with the “boy’s” every night. Tim touched so many lives and was loved by many. Known most for his quick wit, infectious laugh, big smile and tight hugs. Tim, (Timmy, Cracker Jack, Uncle Homey) will be missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts. Besides his Mom Rita, his loving family includes Brothers Ron (Elaine) Getchell, Frank (Betty) Getchell, Mark (Gina) Getchell and Sister Julie (Tom) Winnik. Tim also leaves Nieces and Nephews Sandy (Robert) Gray, Shannon (Joe) Sears, David (Jackie) Getchell, Mark Getchell, Ryan Getchell, and predeceased by Lindsay Brown.
