Obituary

Timothy Alan King, known affectionately as King, passed away on July 29, 2024 in Sarasota, FL, at the age of 77. Born on April 25, 1947 in Chicago, IL, Tim grew up to embody the virtues of love, hard work, and a uniquely sharp wit that won the hearts and chuckles of many.

Tim proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969, a period during which he dedicated himself to the values of courage and commitment that he carried throughout his life.

After his military service, Tim ventured into entrepreneurship, becoming the respected owner of King’s Boat Store for over 25 years. His dedication to his work was paralleled only by his passion for his hobbies, which included fishing, hunting, grilling, reading, and cherishing moments with his family.

Tim leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, Deborah; his children, Jennifer (John) and Timothy (Miriam); his siblings, Jon (Rose) and Heather (Wayne); and his grandchildren, Jacob, Jordyn, Janelle, Kylee, Aubrey, and Jayla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Carole King, and his brothers, Ronald and Joel King.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, honoring Tim’s remarkable journey and the indelible marks he left on the hearts of those he loved. His legacy of laughter, love, and resilience will forever resonate with his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Baldwin Brothers of Port Charlotte is honored to serve the King family.

Duty, honor, respect, love of family and country., those basic values
were Tim's beacon in life. He was a doting father, grandpa, husband
and the neighborhood grill master. Always good for a laugh, a joke
and a warm greeting. And he was my friend. Sad to see you go.
But, good memories. RIP Lip upper stiff, mate.
Sincere condolences to his special family and loved ones.

It was an honor to spend time with such a witty and courageous man who dedicated his life to his family. Sorry that geography prevented us from spending more time with Tim. Again, it was an honor and a privilege to know him. I know he will be missed by those he loved and those who loved him.
