Obituary
Timothy Paul Staples, Sr., 64, of New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Wolcott, Connecticut, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital. Tim was born on December 30, 1959, in Scranton, PA, the first of four children to Eleanor Joan (Brier) Staples and the late Ronald William Staples.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved sons, Timothy (TJ) Staples, Jr. of Chicago, IL and Tyler Staples of Wolcott, CT, his mother, Eleanor Staples of Scranton, PA., two sisters, Lori Staples and her significant other, Billy Checho of Scranton, PA, and Nancy DeMarest and husband Jim of Watertown, CT., sister in law, Michelle Staples of Naugatuck, CT, and his former wife, Susan Ronalter of Wolcott, CT. He also leaves his nieces and nephews; Mike Noreikis, Brooke Noreikis, Ryan Staples, McKenzi Staples, Trevor Checho, great-niece Elliana Noreikis and several other family and friends.
In addition to his father, Tim is preceded in death by his brother, Ronald (Todd) Staples.
Tim was raised in Prospect, CT and graduated from Kaynor Technical High School in Waterbury. He was a self-employed contractor for most of his career. He raised his family in Wolcott. TJ and Tyler were his biggest source of pride and joy. He enjoyed coaching their baseball teams for many years, sharing his love of golf with them, and taking family ATV trips, camping and beach vacations throughout their upbringing. More recently, he moved to FL and enjoyed his semi-retirement with good friends and his favorite hobbies of golfing and riding his jet ski up until his final days.
Services are scheduled for Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Wolcott Congregational Church. There will be a brief calling period at 1:30 pm with a memorial service scheduled at 2pm. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow from 3pm to 7pm at the Bristol Elks Club hall, 126 South St, Bristol CT. Those unable to attend the church service are still welcome to attend the Celebration of Life.
