Obituary

Todd Timothy Clarke, age 49, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on September 19, 2023.   Born in Libertyville, Illinois to Robert and Kay Clarke, Todd spent most of his life living in the Orlando, Florida area.  From early on, Todd had a love for bicycles and bicycle racing.  He participated in BMX racing through his early teens, capturing Number 1 for his age group several times.  Following graduation from Lake Brantly High School in Longwood, Florida, Todd followed his father’s career into insurance adjusting.  He attended Vail Tech Insurance school In Pennsylvania studying Auto Appraisal and Homeowner Adjusting.  He held a Florida Insurance Adjusters License and worked for several national Insurance companies and independent adjusting firms.

Todd became involved in the Orlando art scene and took up painting, selling, and displaying his art at several local art shows.  His garage became his studio and the place for friends and neighbors to gather, paint, and hang out.  Through his art, he met his true love and soulmate, Megan Stepe.  She was the light of his life and constant companion for the last seven years.

Todd never really cared about money, wealth, social status, a prestigious job, or material things. He cared about people.  He cared about being kind, making friends, helping others, expressing himself in his art and having fun with the ones he cared about.  His greatest achievement in life is one that we should all strive for; to have lived a life filled with so many friends that truly loved and cared about him; to touch so many people in such a positive and profound way.  Maybe that is what life is all about; to care about others more than we care about ourselves.

Todd is survived by his Parents, Robert and Kaye Clarke, Soulmate, Megan Stepe, Aunt, Nancy Harr, Uncle, Jerry Kalteux, Aunt, Fay Kalteux, Uncle James Kalteux, Aunt, Michelle Kalteux, Cousin Jeff Kalteux, Cousin Monica Sweet and Cousins living in Michigan: Pat Ruditius, Chris Clarke, Steve Clarke, Marge Bekes, Jean Hellmann, and Cousins living in Illinois: Debbie Harr, Linda Warren, David Harr, and Wendy Tenneberger.

Todd was truly a special person and to honor him we are having a celebration of his life on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 10:00AM to 12:00 PM at the Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 1654 N Semoran Blvd, Orlando, Florida 32807.  We will play Todd’s favorite music, display photos and memorabilia that represent his journey through life.  We ask those attending to share a story or antidote or photo that will be a remembrance of Todd.

Following the celebration of life, we will gather at Nora’s Sugar Shack, (one of Todd’s Favorite places) 636 Virginia Drive, Orlando, Florida 32803 for a Pot Luck Lunch.

We ask any donations in Todd’s name be made to The American Cancer Society or your local Hospice.

    Man, Todd Clarke.
I’ve known him since we were in High School together. Skateboarding (which he ripped at), Music, Art Club, and even after school when he was building mini trucks. Wild tandem axel machines that he delivered pizza in.
We are true classmates. I’m sorry to see you’re gone Todd. You made a lasting impression on me as you did in others. Your memory lives on in those who loved and knew you
