Obituary
Toni Grand Speed was 77 when she went to be with our Lord on April 6, 2018. She died very peacefully with her daughters by her side, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Toni was a very active member of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church in Hammond, Louisiana for 50 years. She had a servant’s heart and served in many different capacities at the church. She loved her church, her priest and her Lord with her whole heart.
Toni was an Abstractor in Hammond for more than 30 years, after working for Mentz and Cashe Law Firm. She had her own Abstracting firm and was held in high esteem by the legal community for her meticulous and arduous work. She was adored by all and wanted to please everyone she came into contact with. God placed her through terrible hardships at an early age to develop these compassionate characteristics.
Toni is Survived by her husband: Carl Speed, Two daughters: Teri Speed Cumpton, MD and Carla Speed McNeil, and her four grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her sons Douglas Carl Speed, and Wade Warren Speed.
Services for Toni will be held at Christ The King Anglican Church (4440 SE 3rd Ave. Ocala, FL 34480 352-351-9727) on April 17 at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the church building fund.
Services for Toni will also be held at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church (100 W Church St, Hammond, LA 70401 985-345-2764) on Saturday April 21, 2018 at 11:00. The church will be open an hour prior for prayer and vigil if desired. The burial will follow the services, to lay Toni to rest in peace beside her two sons.
