Obituary
Ursula A. Memmer 77 passed away peacefully on March 21, 2016. Born in Bremen, Germany in 1938 she immigrated to America in 1959 with her first husband, Wolfgang Unger, a mechanical engineer by trade, but also a gifted self-educated reinforced plastics chemist and production expert.
Together they raised two children while running a family fiberglass production business in New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange.
Ursula loved poetry, studying ancient Egypt, dancing, boating and was once a fiercely competitive tennis player with her second husband, George Memmer, a retired Major from the Marine Corps. She recently proudly voted in the Florida Primary. She loved holidays and traditions but especially Christmas. She taught herself sewing and gardening and loved living in New Smyrna Beach. Mrs. Memmer was a proud American and was a sweet loving lady with a tender heart and her smile will be missed.
She leaves behind a brother Hannes Pokaar and family in Bremen Germany, her first born son Wolfgang Unger and his wife Bernadette Unger, her daughter, SabineCorinna Unger who was her constant companion and caregiver for over a decade. She also left behind her Granddaughter Danielle Porter and her husband Brett Porter and two Great Grandchildren and her Grandson Richard Unger. She was a member of Coquina Presbyterian Church in Ormond Beach, FL.
