Obituary
Valerie Ann Wynn (Gustin), 48, of Lehigh Acres, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at home. Valerie was born
in Rochester, NY., on April 26, 1973. She is survived by her husband, Winston, and sons, Cody and Christopher Wynn of Lehigh Acres, FL., mother, Janet Swigert of North Fort Myers, FL., sister, Laura (Dan) Howard of Cape Coral, FL., brother, Mark (Jennifer) Gustin of Apollo Beach, FL., father, Alan Gustin of Horseheads, NY., stepfather-in-law, John Mehan of Stillwater, NY., sister-in-law, Selina Horton of Liberty Lake, WA., 2 nephews and 3 nieces, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Wanda Mehan, stepfather, James Swigert, cousin Tricia Howland, and her grandparents.
Valerie graduated from North Fort Myers High School in 1991 and entered the United States Air Force in May 1992, to become a weather forecaster and meteorologist. While serving at several stateside military bases, she was deployed to Kyrgyzstan and South Korea. She received numerous prestigious awards and medals throughout her military career. Valerie achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant, medically retired in May 2006, and moved back to Southwest Florida; to begin working for Lee County Public Safety in April 2007 as a Supply and Inventory Specialist. She achieved two associates degrees and lacked only a few courses for a bachelors degree.
A Celebration of Life walk-thru will be held at Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Parkway East, Cape Coral, FL., on Saturday, July 31, 2021, between the hours of 2:15 & 3:00 p.m.
Valerie was a lover of all animals and would want to be remembered for her contagious laugh and smile, sense of humor, seriousness when needed, and love for her family.
