December 25, 1952 – August 28, 2024

Vickie “Sue” was a native of Homestead, Florida and later became a resident of Punta Gorda. She was a graduate of South Dade Senior High School and nursery owner. She was the matriarch of a large extended family, both biological and found. She never met a stranger, to be in her confidence was to have a true and loyal friend for life. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by friends and family, after a prolonged respiratory illness. She is preceded in death by her father, Edward Lewis Johns and her mother, Geneva Linalounet Ferrel Johns. She is survived by her brother James Johns, her brother Terry Johns (Rhonda), her daughter Tracy Carter, son Scotty Merritt (Jamie) and daughter Kemmy Tyre (Chris). She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 11:00AM – 12:00PM at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home located at 1100 El Jobean Road in Port Charlotte. A funeral service will be held directly after that from 12:00PM – 1:00PM.

A graveside service with burial will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00AM at Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn Cemetery located at 27100 Old Dixie Highway in Naranja, FL 33032.
