Obituary
Victor Arthur Glidewell of Edgewater, Florida, passed away December 6th, 2020 in his home. Vic was born to Victor and Zella Glidewell on 1/3/1933. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Elizabeth Glidewell, and his son Victor “Tommy” Glidewell and sister Jacqueline Mickle.
Victor was born in Herrin, Illinois and served briefly in the United States Air Force as an aviation electronics technician during the Korean war; swiftly rising through the ranks before leaving the service as a Staff Sergeant. Vic worked for Continental Can Company in Chicago for over 20 years. He met the love of his life Liz in the “Windy City” and they moved to Edgewater, Florida after Vic retired, and they married soon after.
Motorcycles were a big part of Vic’s life growing up and it wasn’t until old age set in that he had to give up riding. Vic’s most cherished memory was riding his Honda Goldwing with his wife Liz and they never missed a bike week until Liz’ health declined. They loved their dogs Prince, Prince and Chance who brought much love, joy and loyal companionship to their lives.
Vic leaves behind Liz’s two children from her previous marriage, Carl and Terry, as well as several nieces and nephews. Services are private.
