Obituary
Vincent Astrella Jr. passed suddenly on November 18th at the age of 78. He was born in Jersey City, NJ and moved to South Florida in his teenage years with his family. Vinny worked for Eastern Airlines for 20 plus years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2012.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Mariam, daughter Robyn (Sam) and son Alan (Jon) and his granddaughter Paige.
Vinny was a wonderful husband, an amazing father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life is planned for December.

He will truly be missed by all of us who knew him
He was a monument.
Not carved in stone—
but in moments that never leave.
The kind of man who didn’t raise his voice to be heard,
because his presence was louder than words.
The kind of man whose silence carried more weight than most sermons.
Not because he said less—
but because when he spoke, it mattered.
Vincent walked like he knew the world could break you,
and still stood as if it never would.
He didn’t chase spotlight.
He carried legacy.
The quiet kind. The strong kind. The kind built with scarred hands, tired bones, and a heart that bled for others before itself.
To his family, he was fortress and fire.
To his wife, a vow that never faded.
To his daughter—home.
And to those lucky enough to know him deeply?
He was proof that real men still walk this earth.
Vincent didn’t need a throne to be a king.
Didn’t need wings to carry others.
He stood.
He stayed.
He showed up—in every way that counted.
And now?
He walks with the King of Kings.
Not bowed.
But welcomed.
Because men like Vincent don’t vanish.
They echo.
In the way his name will never be spoken without pride.
In the way his memory will never be mentioned without strength.
In the way we carry him forward—
not in grief,
but in fire.
Rest easy, Vincent.
Your story’s not over.
It’s in us now.
