Obituary
Dr. Vincent C. Canepa, 100, New Smyrna Beach passed away November 19, 2015 at his home of natural causes. He was born in Cleveland, OH in 1915 to Joseph and Miriam (Avalon) Canepa. He was preceded in death by his two sisters Sylvia and Genevieve and daughter Sylvia. He is survived by his daughter Maria (Ed), Vincent Jr., and granddaughters Roxy, Raquel and Jade.
He served our nation as first lieutenant in the US Army Airborne Corps during WW 11. Eight years before entering service he was a student at Western Reserve University where he earned a degree in pharmacy and dentistry. He was a member of the dental fraternity, Psi Omega. He enjoyed a long and distinguished career retiring in 1990. He retired to New Smyrna Beach from Jacksonville to be near his daughter Maria and grandchildren. He was known for scootering around the beach and the South Causeway headed to the Brannon Center for bingo and lunch.
He impacted everyone who came into contact with his sense of humor, love, kindness and generosity. He had a long and interesting life, living it to the fullest. The family would like to add a special thanks to Jessica and staff at Angel Oaks for the care of Vince over the past two years of his life.
Family and friends are cordially invited to the memorial services to be held Friday December 18, 2 pm at Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church 4000 S. Atlantic Ave. N.S.B. followed with a celebration of his life at Clancy’s Cantina. Everyone is invited to come celebrate and share stories. Bright colored clothing preferred for that is how he lived his life.
