Obituary

Violet Ann (Hall) Twaddle (January 13, 1935-January 12, 2017) passed away an hour and a half before her 82nd birthday. Her family and friends knew her as Bobbie.  God rewarded her incredibly selfless life with a birthday party to a new life in Heaven.  Choirs of angels sang “Happy Birthday” as she was welcomed to the party by those that she had lost before:  her parents Albert L. Hall and Victoria (Tackett) Hall as well as three sisters and seven brothers.  With immense joy, she was reunited with her infant daughter, Denise. Violet was born in Wheelwright, KY, and graduated from Wheelwright High School.  She met Harold L. Twaddle (her husband of over 60 years) in Columbus, OH, where she was working and later married him in her parents’ home in Kentucky (7/21/1956).  They moved to Toledo, OH, where they raised a family.  She was active in her church (Messiah Lutheran) and made many friends through Bible studies and cake decorating.  Violet was a talented cake decorator. She operated “Cakes by Vi” specializing in wedding cakes and specialty cakes.  Violet and Harold moved to Edgewater, FL, in 2012 to be closer to their daughter.  Violet is survived by her loving family:  her husband, Harold; three children: daughter Terri (Ron) Balduf of New Smyrna Beach FL, son Jeffrey (Patricia) Twaddle of Franklin TN, and son Michael (Patricia Hernandez) Twaddle of Toledo OH; seven grandchildren:  Joshua, Jennifer (John DiLorenzo), and Jerico Balduf; and Jacob (Kylee), Jordan, Jessica, and Jackson Twaddle; and two great grandchildren:  Reid and Aubrie Twaddle; and her “little brother,” William “Sonny” (Karen) Hall and “little sister,” Mary Sue (Doug) Owens, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Special thanks to the staff on the fourth floor at Florida Hospital New Smyrna and Ocean View Rehab; your “Little Violet” and her family appreciated you all! A memorial is planned for Saturday January 21st, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home located at 1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach FL, 386-428-4452.  A second memorial will be held on Saturday January 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church located at 4703 N. Summit Street, Toledo, OH, 419-726-0049. Ashes will be interred at Toledo Memorial Park.

Harold and family. This breaks my heart. Vi was such a lovely lady. Everytime Harold would call me she would jump on the phone to see how I was doing. She had a smile that would make anyone feel loved. Harold you are a special man to have had over 60 years with this special lady. I love you and I will miss her.
