Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Violet Mae Robertson (Penninger), who peacefully departed this life on January 1, 2026, at the age of 78. Violet was born on December 6, 1947, in Lexington, North Carolina, to Ralph Penninger and Joyce Robinson, with Don Robinson later becoming a beloved stepfather.

Violet was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her family above all, and her love for them was unwavering. She is survived by her son, Terry W. Robertson Jr.; her grandchildren, Troy Robertson (Nicole) and Savannah Sterling (Andrew); and her four great-grandchildren: Hudson, Brooks, Jackson, and Maci; as well as her daughter-in-law, Michelle Robertson.

Violet worked in the field of Radiology for many years, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and patients alike. Outside of her professional life, she had a deep passion for life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time with her family, enjoying the company of her Yorkies, and escaping to the beach whenever she could. Violet was also a fan of Las Vegas and had a special fondness for shopping. Her vibrant spirit and joy for life will always be remembered by those who knew her.

Violet was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Terry “Wendell” Robertson Sr., her son, Tony W. Robertson, and her sibling, Donnie Robinson. She leaves behind her sisters, Ruby Walker and Connie Davis; her sister-in-law, Becky Robinson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in Port Orange. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Violet’s life.

Violet Mae Robertson’s legacy of love, kindness, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
