Obituary
Virginia M. (Perkins) Fisher, 88, of The Villages, FL, died Friday, July 26, after a long illness. Gini was born and raised in Haverhill, MA, to the late Edwin C. Perkins, Sr., and Lillian M. (Smart) Perkins. She is predeceased by her 13 brothers and sisters, and her loving husband Robert E. Fisher, Sr., to whom she was married for 62 years before his passing in 2010. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Framingham State College. She enjoyed summering at her home in Biddeford Pool, Maine. Her many talents and accomplishments include athletic, artistic and humanitarian pursuits. She created and ran a tennis class for Haverhill High School students and a public summer tennis camp at Cedardale/Ward Hill in Haverhill, MA. She and her husband Bob won many singles and doubles tennis championships and enjoyed golfing together. She shared herself lovingly as a hospice volunteer and coordinator in Asheville, North Carolina, and as a Stephen Minister in Lady Lake Florida. She served on the Lake County Cultural Affairs Council and was a member of The Villages’ Visual Arts Association. She was a talented artist, organizing several art shows and contributing many award winning paintings. She is survived by her children Nancy Fisher of Lady Lake, FL; Janet Swiggart and her husband Bill of North Andover, MA; Bob Fisher, Jr., and his wife Sheila of Lady Lake, FL; and Jennifer Waltzer and her husband Brad of Port Royal, PA. She leaves her seven loving grandchildren, Laura Sczcapa and her husband Mike of North Andover, MA; Lee Gaudreau of North Hampton, MA; Robert Fisher III of Lady Lake, FL; Kevin Fisher of Huanuco, Peru; Audrey Waltzer of Port Royal, PA; Abigail and Will Swiggart of North Andover, MA; and her three treasured great grandchildren, Michael, Sophie, and Lily Sczcapa of North Andover, MA. Arrangements are being made by Baldwin Brothers. Interment will be private.
