Obituary

Virginia Ruby Griffith Prentice, 88, of Ocala, FL (formerly of Milford, CT), passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, after a brief illness at home surrounded by her family. Born in New Haven, CT in 1935, to the late Walter & Emma Griffith.  She enjoyed vacationing with her husband of 69 years, reading, crocheting, listening to music especially Elvis. Most important to her were her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Nelson, she is survived by her son, Kevin Prentice (Barbara); and daughters, Cynthia Malse (Gary), Sherry O’Donnell (Robert) all of CT, Bonnie Bouffard (Daniel) of FL, and Michele Lichtenberger (Glen) of SC.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kyle Prentice (Christine), Holly Stavert (Robert), Scott Prentice (Nixida), Christopher Malse, Nicholas Bouffard (Alicia), Allyssa Dorsey (Michael), Ashley & Alexandra O’Donnell, Cory Lichtenberger, Amber Franks (Judson), and Shauna Patrick (Dylan). She also left behind great-grandchildren: Brooke, Brynn, Oscar, Aubrey, Charlotte, Calli, Shelby, Landon, Jaxon and Paige; a brother, Gary Griffith (Ellen); and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on February 15, 2024, 1-3pm, at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 954 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34470. A burial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Cancer Society and Hospice of Marion County.
