Obituary
Cap (Walter) Caspers, Jr., 72, of The Villages, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, September 10, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Cap was born on September 27, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to his parents Walter and Nancy Caspers. Raised in the north side of Chicago he attended St. Gertrude’s Grade school and St. George High school in Evanston, Illinois where he played football. Cap attended Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan and graduated in 1975 with a MS in structural engineering.
Cap is survived by his wife of 48 years Sandi Caspers who he married in 1970. Other survivors include his sisters Dorothy (Phil) Cook, Linda (David) Mitchell and Rosemary (Jim-predeceased) Martin; sister in-law Linda James; brother in-law Gerald Koski; 24 nieces and nephews; many grand nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Alice Carduff.
Cap worked as a structural engineer and CEO for several construction companies in the Chicago area. He participated in building the expressways which surrounded the city of Chicago. He created the machine which constructed the barrier walls. He was also involved in designing communication systems for High Speed Rail in Taiwan and Urban Rail in Phoenix, Arizona.
He was a devoted fan of The Chicago Cubs and Bears. “Go Bears!”
He always laughed and loved everyone and enjoyed his retirement in The Villages. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Cap will live always in our hearts.
Memorial service will be private.
