Obituary
Wanda Faye Booth, 74, of DeLand, FL, passed away peacefully on March 7th, 2021, with her daughters by her side. She was born on January 7, 1947 in Whitley County, Kentucky.
She married Hugh Terry Appleby in December 1963 and they lived in Miami FL until 1972 before relocating to DeLand FL until 1992. They had three children. She later resided in Naples FL with her former husband, Aaron Bullard, and she returned to DeLand in 2019 to be near family. She is survived by her daughters: Cynthia Bogart of Orange City FL, and Karen Riddle of Trussville AL. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Wayne Booth of Peoria, AZ, the father of her children, Hugh Terry Appleby of New Smyrna Beach FL, and her granddaughter, Kira St. Pierre of DeLand FL. Wanda was predeceased by her beautiful daughter, Diana Elaine Appleby, her sister Brenda Booth Vale, and her parents, Ethel Gertrude Barnes and Clarence Jack Booth.
She had a gregarious & fun-loving personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went, and she never met a stranger. Wanda was a loving mother and a homemaker during her children’s formative years. Family and friends were her passion and happiness.
Like her mother before her, Wanda was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for everyone, most especially over the holidays. For many years, she endeavored to create her own family cookbook from recipes she made and those passed on from prior generations of fantastic family cooks.
Her other interests included gardening, sewing, reading, making floral arrangements, and listening to Elvis. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her own mother until her passing in 2002. She was an active member of the community for many years in the Business and Professional Women’s Club of DeLand and Junior Women’s Club of DeLand where she won multiple awards, including the Workhorse of the Year.
All who loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, laughter, and undying love and caring for them. She was a strong and determined woman who will always be treasured. A private family celebration of her life will be held on March 13, 2021 at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in New Smyrna Beach FL.
I don’t know were your Going.
I don’t know where you're going but I'll meet you there
I can't blame you for leaving but it's still not fair
And when I don't know what to sing
I'd sing about you
Now I don't know what to do now that you're not here
I don't know how to love, don't know how to feel
But I don't want to believe
I'll believe in you
I'll believe in you
If all I can do
To keep you here with me
I'll remember you
Won't you remember me
If all I can do
To keep you here with me
I'll remember you
Won't you remember me
And when I don't know what to think
I'll think about you.
Your Loving brother
My fondest memory was of the family reunion years ago. Most of the family was together and it was wonderful. My dad, Robert Booth, my mom Denise, little sister Lindsey, Grandma Judy, Aunt Wanda, Brenda, Aaron, Mike, my cousins Cindee & Karen, & Jeremy. I was so young but still remember the reunion. I love you all & look forward to seeing everyone soon. Fly high with the angels aunt Wanda, I love you! ❤️
Your Nephew,
